Our approach
These terms describe the practical conditions for using OCR.now. They are not a substitute for jurisdiction-specific legal review, and the operator must align them with the final public deployment and business identity.
The practical limits are documented in the OCR methodology, while upload handling is covered by the privacy policy.
Authorized use
Use the service only for documents you own or are permitted to process. Do not use it to bypass access controls, expose another person's confidential information, process unlawful material, disrupt the service, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or place unreasonable load on the OCR worker.
Authorized use checks
- Respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality, contractual, and records-management duties.
- Do not submit credentials or secrets that should not leave a controlled environment.
- Do not represent machine output as certified or human-verified when it is not.
- Do not use the service as the sole basis for a high-consequence decision.
Recognition output and responsibility
OCR output can omit, reorder, or substitute characters and can appear fluent while an important name, number, unit, date, or instruction is wrong. You remain responsible for checking the result against the source, selecting an appropriate downstream format, and deciding whether the workflow is suitable for the consequence level.
Recognition output and responsibility checks
- Confidence is an engine signal, not a warranty of correctness.
- Plain text does not preserve every layout relationship.
- OCR does not validate authenticity, authorship, arithmetic, legal meaning, or accessibility.
- Keep an original source when provenance or correction history matters.
Availability and changes
The service may be limited, changed, suspended, or unavailable while capacity, security, dependencies, or functionality are maintained. File limits, supported languages, output formats, and page limits are part of the current product behavior and may change with a release. A page should be updated when a material capability changes rather than using an artificial freshness date.
Availability and changes checks
- Do not rely on the service as the only copy of a document or result.
- Verify current capability boundaries before a repeatable production workflow.
- Automated or bulk use requires explicit authorization and suitable resource controls.
- The operator should publish jurisdiction, contact, and liability terms before a commercial launch.
